Created by Yuga labs and launched in April 2021, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), although relatively new, is one of the most popular NFTs.
There are 10,000 unique animated Apes in the collection. Ownership of one means possessing a valuable Yacht Club membership card that has several perks, including access to private concerts in the digital world.
BAYC, built on the Ethereum blockchain, had its most expensive ape auctioned for 769 ETH, $2.3 million.
There is a long list of celebrities holding BAYC collectibles, including American rap legend Eminem, Tv star and Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon. Others are; American rapper Future, American superstar DJ and music producer DJ Khaled, NBA star Steph Curry and YouTube star Logan Paul.
