Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC)
Mutant Ape Yacht Club is the second creation of Yuga labs, the creators of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
Released on the market in August, the reputation of the creators and the performance of the BAYC collection meant NFT enthusiasts didn’t take any chances. All 10,000 Mutant Apes in the collection sold immediately, generating $96 million in sales.
MAYC Apes can be minted during a public sale or by using “Serum” to convert a BAYC to a mutant ape. The serum is a separate NFT developed by the creators of BAYC and MAYC, there are three types, and each produces a different Mutant Ape.
Ethereum co-founder Taylor Gering is one of the famous holders of the MAYC alongside American rapper Lil Baby, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, actor Drake Bell, rapper Ja Rule, and other celebrities.
